On February 24th I had the pleasure of hosting a professional development workshop with Visual Arts Alberta ~ CARFAC. We has 16 participants across the province and an amazing discussion about our various incomes.

The second workshop, Why Records Matter, was held on March 23rd 2015. This was another amazing session with attendees really engaging and contributing to the shared learning environment.

This February 22nd and 29th I joined Creative Practices Institute for the continuation of their professional development seminars under a new name, the Artistic Entrepreneur Program. This program provides hands-on learning that encourages artists to manage a professional art career. I facilitated the Artist Bookkeeping Basics and Boot Camp sessions where participants were given some basic terms, tools and tips to managing finances, as well as an opportunity to work with their own books under my guidance.

It was a pleasure to deliver a workshop on bookkeeping for artists in Fort McMurray this November. Thanks to a fantastic group we had a great session filled with good discussion and sharing. In February 2015 Creative Practices Institute invited me to deliver a workshop on bookkeeping for artists. This was a wonderful chance to share my personal experience and passion for accounting with members of the community. Creating and facilitating this workshop offered me the opportunity to learn about the various practical applications of the tools I have developed while operating my own sole proprietorship. Through the amazing insights and questions brought forward by the participants I have learned a lot about issues facing artists as business owners, I hope to incorporate this into future lesson plans.
